“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to ones such as these.'”
Matthew 19:14
What to expect at St. Stephen’s
At St. Stephen’s we believe that children are an integral part of our church community and our community at large.
Christian education classes, family events, and community outreach opportunities are provided to strengthen our children’s love of God, involvement in our church family, and connection to our greater community.
Christian
Education
We are currently offering Children’s Christian Education classes on Sunday mornings during the 9:30 am service. Classes are open to children grades k-6, although we always welcome help from older children. I will lead children to our classroom after the kids sermon and keep children in class until the service is over (we will return for communion).
Next Christian Education Class

Family
Events
Family events are offered throughout the course of the school year. These are informal events for families with children of all ages. Events are generally seasonal or theme based, and aim to foster a sense of belonging within our church community.

Community Outreach
Community outreach opportunities will be held directly following the 9:30 am church service, one Sunday every month, unless otherwise noted. We are currently working with Street Soldiers Schenectady creating bagged lunches which will later be distributed to those in need within our community.
